The Colour of 2018: Ultra Violet

Hey hey!

It's February! Can you believe it, this month went by so fast. So far this year has been good to me and my family.  I have started eating healthier and also working out. My goal is to be able to run up the stairs without running out of breath.

Banff | Rockie Mountains

I have traveled across Canada in many unconventional ways and reasons. Today I will share my adventure with an iconic Canadian park. In August 2016, we had an appointment in Calgary, and so we took that chance to go to one of the loveliest places in Canada: Banff.

On the Way

We left GP on Thursday and spent most of the day driving across the province. The Alberta prairies are beautiful something of a western movie, cows, wheat fields and more.
Larter that afternoon we arrived at Red Deer, a city north of Calgary, to visit some friends that had moved there years ago. It was great seeing them again, and Red Deer is really pretty. It is really important to note that it is between Calgary and Edmonton, which does come in handy. We spent the night there, the next morning we said goodbye and we were on our way to Calgary.
We went to our appointment then spent the day 'shopping' in Calgary. I have to say that Calgary is HUGE. We got lost, could not find our location but we enjoyed the 'family' time. That night in the hotel one of the things that I dread happening happened. I was in the pool swimming, enjoying myself, when I get out and became suddenly aware that I got water inside my ears and could barely hear. That happened quite late at night so all the pharmacies were closed and we couldn't go out and buy anything.
That was not a good night, I barely slept because (me being me) I was imagining my future as a deaf person, which as a person of hard of hearing might be a true fear. Either way, the next morning before we left for Banff my parents got something that, thankfully, helped.

Must Have Pair Shoes

Happy New Year!

How was your new year? We spent ours with family, friends, and food. The 3 F's.
Now that the new year is starting I want to tell you about the must-have pair of shoes every fashionista should have.

Flats

Flats are the best shoes ever, I LOVE flats. They are comfortable, stylish, and very very versatile. Over the year I've had all types of flats, ones with bows, straps, glitter, beads you name it. Depending on the style they can even go with formal clothing.

Sneakers

Comfortable, sportish are words that would define sneakers. Casual sneakers are something else they come in various colors and go with jeans, dresses, skirts and many.
A fashionable sneaker is the perfect weekend shoe, pair it with jeans and dresses alike.

Sorry for the Delay

Happy New Year to all!

How were your new years? Did you spend it with the 3 Fs? Family, friends and food. We did, it was fun and the food was great. We did not arrive home until past 3am.

Sorry if I haven't been here, it's that its new years and I am trying to figure out things for this year and what not. I'll probably be back by next week. I am working on what to post this month, what styels are trending etc.

I will be back, do not worry. Now before I leave I leave you with a quote.
Til next time.
Arrivederci!

Why?? Cold Shoulder

I know you have probably noticed the cold-shoulder trend this past year. It's been everywhere on everything from pantsuits to dresses to everything. With ruffles (it's everywhere!!)
*sigh*
For those of you that don't know what I am talking it's a trend that the top of the shoulder is left bare. In the beginning, I thought it was cute and I have to admit that I do have some tops/dresses in that style, but now that it is everywhere, on impractical articles of clothing like sweaters (which defeats the purpose of comfy sweaters/jumpers.)
Everyone is wearing them and everyone has cold shoulders, how fashionable *sarcams*.
When I was about 8-10 years old, I remember that this was in style along off-the-shoulder tops, which are now in style also. To be honest, this trend has lasted longer than I expected, I wonder what trends there will be for next year. *shrugs* 😉

Hello!! (I'm Back)

Hi Guys!!
Can you believe it has been 3+ years since I last posted?!!?
To update you all this is what has happened in my life:

  • I graduated from high school.
  • Went to Banf, Red Deer, Calgary multiple times.
  • Turned 18! I am now an official adult
  • Moved across the country to Quebec, and am now learning French *sigh
    • This event was a wild tale. I'll tell you about it in the future.
So sorry about not keeping up with this blog, I forgot to update then time went on and I felt that it was too late to recuperate it. But now I hope to bring it back to life and to update often (well...more often than every 3 years lol). This blog will focus on fashion books and maybe something else?
I also have a new blog that focuses more on baking, sewing, and lifestyle It's plaidandsugar.blogspot.ca
So what have you been up to this last couple of years? What are your goals for the new year?

The Rockies

In May 2014 I went to Grande Cache near the Rockies in Alberta, 2 hours from where I live. My parents out of the blue decided to take a trip to Grande Cache. Me thinking it would be a great experience agreed we should go and we left. It was a long ride, but it definitely wasn't boring. Looking outside my car window I saw that the landscapes were beautiful, the trees were ready to bloom, the sun was shinning, and you could see the snowy tops of the Rockies. My family and I took, what seemed like, thousands of pictures. We saw mines and dark blue rivers, deers and tweeting birds of all kinds.

But when we got there I saw the most spectacular sight I've ever seen.
The Rockies.
Wow! We had seen pictures, films, descriptions of the mountains but none could describe the beauty and peacefulness of them. It was weird thought being in Grande Cache, spring showing everywhere, while looking at the mountains, covered in snow looking cold, and feeling like wow this is beauty. Not the beauty depicted by movie stars, films, magazines or anything man made. It was natural beauty made with love by God. Nothing can surpass it. We took pictures and went as far as we could to get near them. After that we headed home after being in Grande Cache for about 2 hours. The ride back was filled with anticipation to get home but we kept recalling the mountains and their glory. To this day (3 days later)I think what would have happened if we had stayed at home that day. We wouldn't have had gotten a cracked windshield ( a rock hit us)or left a hamburger half eaten forgotten in a restaurant or by mistake found where the correctional centre was. Those are going to be things we will always remember. One out of the blue trip was a great experience for our family.
What will your memories be like?
